LS4 Power Steering Pump Bypass

Do to the packaging constraints of the transverse mounted LS4, GM was forced to use a complex single belt accessory drive. The block hugging design of the serpentine system severely limits aftermarket intake manifold options. The mechanical power steering pump and the remote mounted reservoir interfere with the fitment of most popular manifolds. This presents a major issue for those in pursuit of power as the LS4 features the worst flowing intake manifold of the entire LS family of engines.  

LS4 King has developed a power steering pump bypass to free up crucial real estate. The billet backing plate bolts in place of the mechanical pump at the water manifold with the supplied stainless hardware. The OE quality steel 6 rib idler maintains the proper belt routing, wrap and alignment.  

Please Note: Removal of the mechanical pump will result in the loss of power assisted steering. This product is intended for enthusiasts who are converting to an electric power steering system or alternatively a manual rack and pinion system.
